Romans 11:7-16

⁷What then? What ^(A)Israel is seeking, it has not obtained, but ^[a]those who were chosen obtained it, and the rest were ^(B)hardened; ⁸just as it is written:

“^(C)God gave them a spirit of stupor,
Eyes to see not and ears to hear not,
Down to this very day.”

⁹And David says,

“^(D)May their table become a snare and a trap,
And a stumbling block and a retribution to them.
¹⁰^(E)May their eyes be darkened to see not,
And bend their backs continually.”

¹¹^(F)I say then, they did not stumble so as to fall, did they? ^[b]^(G)Far from it! But by their wrongdoing ^(H)salvation has come to the Gentiles, to ^(I)make them jealous. ¹²Now if their wrongdoing proves to be riches for the world, and their failure, riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their ^[c]^(J)fulfillment be! ¹³But I am speaking to you who are Gentiles. Therefore insofar as ^(K)I am an apostle of Gentiles, I magnify my ministry ¹⁴if somehow I may ^(L)move ^(M)my ^[d]own people to jealousy and ^(N)save some of them. ¹⁵For if their rejection proves to be the ^(O)reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but ^(P)life from the dead? ¹⁶If the ^(Q)first piece of dough is holy, the lump is also; and if the root is holy, the branches are as well.
